I just read an interesting article about some “non traditional” ways to market a business (http://www.tradeshowguyblog.com/?p=770). The first idea really got my attention because I’ve never seen it done for a dental or orthodontic practice.
The idea is to get a group of people to picket your office. It sounds strange at first but it’s the signs and chants that can really make this work. Put things like “Cleanings Here Are To Fast and To Inexpensive” or “Orthodontist Offices Shouldn’t Be This Fun.” You get the idea. You can even come up with a chant for the group to say over an over as a great marketing message.
Have some fun with this idea, create really fun and interesting signs, come up with a chant and give this one a try. The best part is you can notify your local TV and radio stations about your event and you may even get some broader, free publicity out of the deal.
When the even/picketing is over, be sure to post pictures, video, comments, quotes, and anything else you can on your website, facebook, blog, Twitter, and YouTube. Have a contest for best picketer, favorite chant, funniest sign, or anything else that can keep it alive and promoting your practice.
Let me know your thoughts and if you give it a try I would love to hear how it works.
Bye for now,
Brian

Thanks for writing this up, I’m eager to see what you have to say next about this topic.
It can be such a daunting task finding a good dentist. Last time I switched it took me 4 tries to find a good one.
