The early research suggests that it is going to be an SEO (search engine optimization) powerhouse so do not ignore it.</p>
<p>Google Plus is now open to all users and you should sign up and start playing with it. The user interface is clear and clean but the real power is getting &#8220;plus 1&#8242;d&#8221;, having everyone in your social circle seeing your &#8220;plus 1&#8242;s&#8221;&#8230;essentially combining social media with search results. This can prove to be very powerful stuff if Google continues to work out the details.</p>
<p>Now you may be thinking &#8220;another social media site, do we really need that?&#8221; I&#8217;ve been asking myself the same question and we are still putting together the details on how are dental and orthodontic marketing clients can and should be utilizing this new tool. One thing to realize about blogs is that people who read blog posts tend to think of them as highly credible.  That means that if someone writes on a blog about orthodontics or implants and explains what THEY believe it&#8217;s all about, readers tend to believe what&#8217;s written.</p>
<p>So the question is, if we know that blogs are considered credible, and anyone can pretty much write whatever they want&#8230;are you controlling the message in your market?  Check out this post on <a href="http://website-profit.com/2009/10/orthodontics-what-to-look-for-in-a-suitable-clinic/" rel="nofollow" title="choosing an orthodontic clinic"  target="_blank">CHOOSING AN ORTHODONTIC CLINIC</a> to get an idea of how you can do this.</p>

<p>As an orthodontist or a dentist you may be wondering why you should bother with a blog.<br />

<p>Hello again, this is Brian Divine. Thanks for joining me today. I want to talk to you a little bit about something I think is fascinating and this is blogging, which is what I am doing here. I am sending out blog posts, blog videos, everything that I can think of to get some really fun information out there and to talk to people about what they want to do, what they want to achieve and I am looking for feedback. I want people to tell me what they think and what they might be looking for. So, let&#8217;s talk about blogging and why you should bother. It&#8217;s really an interesting concept   the idea of using blogs for marketing. This obviously originally was designed simply to be a web log or a web diary and that&#8217;s where blog comes from, however it is turning to something a little bit  more powerful.</p>
<p>The reason it has become such a marketing tool for people is because Google loves blogs. It is not so much that it loves the idea of having you talk about what it is that you are interested in, what you are passionate about, it is the idea that there is this interaction that the website is evolving constantly, whether it is you adding posts on a regular basis or comments coming into your post.</p>
<p>Every time that happens, Google is finding that out and indexing and re indexing then putting it into a new cache, so you are being found over and over again as a website that is being found, being used, utilized and updated regularly. So, it is a great tool for getting links, for having people promote you.</p>
<p>So if you have great information and somebody wants to link to your information from their website or even their blog, then it is very easy to do that with a format like a blog. If they don&#8217;t like the information, the information is controversial and they think that you are crazy, they will link to it that way and maybe they will make fun of you or what they call &#8220;flame&#8221; you, but as long as they are linking to you and you are creating some type of energy, you are creating a conversation that&#8217;s absolutely worthwhile.</p>
<p>Now one of the other reasons that blogging has become very powerful when it comes to Internet marketing, marketing your services online is because you are able to have a conversation with your customers, with your target market. This conversation is what makes things very interesting.</p>
<p>If you have a very specific set of services or a product and you are on a blog and you are letting people know about the information, about the service, about the product and you are getting comments saying, &#8220;Hey, could you do this as well?&#8221; or &#8220;That sounds great but&#8221;, and they are giving you this feedback you are having this conversation with the people that are your target   the people you want to be talking to.</p>
<p>I can&#8217;t think of a better way to develop new services, new products, new information and then to have the people you actually want to be working with, telling you what they want. So blogs are a very powerful tool. It is a lot more than what I have covered here, but I wanted to give you just that little overview of what it is all about and why you really do want to have a blog of your own. Not only can it be a lot of fun, but it can be very profitable as well.</p>
<p>So, if you like to learn more, keep coming back here to the section on blogs. I am going to really cover not just what blogs are about, but how you can go about putting together a real strategy around the blog, around what it is going to be all about, how you are going to focus it and where you are going to make sure it is targeted.</p>
